ICE'S STAR INFORMANT MUST BE ISOLATED

Over the course of nearly four years of undercover work, Eduardo Ramirez Peyro helped to indict and prosecute close to fifty persons. In August 2004, US authorities placed their star informant in "protective custody." Shortly thereafter, federal authorities initiated deporation proceedings against their one-time informant. Federal officials pressed for Mr. Ramirez Peyro's deportation to Mexico. Mr. Ramirez Peyro insisted that return to Mexico was a veritable death sentence.

The following list was prepared by the US Attorney's Office for the Western District of Texas. The list includes some 40 individuals who might wish to do Mr. Ramirez Peyro harm.
